Photoshop CS3: Mono Conversions

Masterclass Mono Conversion: Everybody loves a great black and white image and getting into mono conversions is really easy. If you’re shot in jpeg, tiff or want a quick and easy way to convert to mono using Adobe Photoshop CS3 there’s a great Black & white tool that gives all the adjusments you’ll need, even an option to tint.

Open the tool by selecting Image>Adjustments>Black & White. You’ll see the colour value sliders in the box which can be adjusted to get the desired effects, but where this tool differs from others in CS3 is that it can interact the image.

Instead of blindly dragging the sliders around in the editing box simply place the cursor over the image where you want to lighten or darken it, click, hold and drag the cursor left to darken and right to lighten.
