Wordpad 2009 : Just Drag and Dropped! | Mixterr Studio Blog

As you know Windows 7 contains a revamped Wordpad which features Ribbon UI. It makes the simple wordpad a bit special and also adds new functionality to this basic application. “Notepad 2008″ was developed by “Solo-Dev” aka “Villain”. Now he has updated the application with a new name “Wordpad 2009″.

Why I Like Wordpad 2009?

  • Preview of Fonts in Font Selection Box
  • Drag and Dropped text files open in a New tab
  • Drag and Dropped Pictures go in to Active tab
  • New Windows 7 Icons
  • Faster rendering engine
  • More file types supported (Text ,HTML (HTM, HTML, XHTML), CSS ,INI, INF, BAT, CMD)

Its a portable application. Download the ZIP file, extract it and run the EXE file.

I am sure that many will be glad when a version of Wordpad like this is released with Windows, so that people don’t need to upgrade to get these features that assist a fair amount. Auto-previewing fonts is a large change, because it allows enough speed in checking each one to not make you want to stop trying fonts out.
